What all does it mean? Why?? Where do I go?? When????
Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping is nearing over, we can take a moment to Selah, or Woo Sah, or simply breathe. In this pause, we begin to look at our lives. This is the time we reflect over our lives as we begin to formulate yearly resolutions. We may attempt the same one we fell short on last year. Or come up with something new. Planning for the future. We all have plans. We had a plan. Especially pertaining to this blog. We were going to discuss specific topics systematically. Submission (begin reading 1Peter 3), blended families, intimacy, just to give you a preview... but our Lord in all His glory deems us to submit to His plan. Proverbs 16 verses 3 tells us to "Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established." In verse 9 the confirmation comes in the words, "a man's heart plans his way. But the Lord directs his steps." Wow! Isn't the Word of God awesome. As Christian wives, the Word gives us the many tools needed for our job. As women, we take on many roles. Whether you're a wife, have been or will be; you are still a woman. A wonderfully, uniquely designed creation of God. During this time of review, remember this. Yes, you will find that some choices you made, if given a "do over" you might have done them differently. But don't continually beat yourself over the head. Don't dwell in the valley of poor choices. Recognize what they were. Learning experiences, Poor planning or failure to plan. Ill preparation. A growing phase. (My 20's was my dumb decade). We are the summation of our experiences. My grandmother told me its better to make many mistakes than making the same mistake many times. If you keep going into debt, or for single ladies if you keep dating the same kind of man, that's an example of the making the same mistake many times. Please as you plan your resolution, make it simple. Something that you are truly able to commit to. More importantly, utilize Godly counsel as the bible instructs us to do. In Proverbs 11:14, it tells us "Where there is no counsel, people fail..." Live life knowing that Gods purpose for your life will be found as you truly seek Him and submit to His will for your life. Life is a journey, not a race. Until next time, just a little note from the desk of a real wife....
